This has been another powerful year for Breast Cancer Action, and we want to close out 2022 by sharing what we achieved together:

Breast Cancer Action's illustrated Mission, Vision, and Values

We launched our 2022 – 2027 Strategic Plan, “Our 5-Year Strategic Vision: A Radical Strategy for Addressing and Ending Breast Cancer Through A Health Justice Lens,” to guide the next five years of our collective activism. Our mission and vision were evolved in this process. BCAction’s updated mission is to achieve health justice for all people at risk of and living with breast cancer by focusing on systemic interventions, which include policies, institutions, and practices, and by centering people with the furthest relationships to power.

We grew our work to stop PFAS exposures in California by signing onto legislation including: the Safer Clothes & Textiles Act; the PFAS-Free Beauty Act; and the Keep Food Containers Safe from PFAS Act of 2021.

Your contributions support this bold and vital advocacy work!

We strengthened our federal level advocacy work and demanded the passage of the Scientific Integrity Act, the Reducing Hereditary Cancer Risk Act, and the Safety and Landmark Advancement Act. In our continued work to address the fossil fuel industry’s rampant exacerbation of the climate crisis, we signed on to numerous letters to both state and federal lawmakers, pressuring them to suspend or ban fossil fuel extraction.

We launched our 20th Think Before You Pink® campaign: A (R)Evolution, which connected the dots across decades of pink ribbon marketing culture and showed how breast cancer fundraising strategies put profits over people.

We collaborated with Instagram Influencer Blair Imani Ali to amplify the message that pink does not solve breast cancer, and that we need action over awareness!

We shared video messages from community members as to the WHY BCAction’s work resonates with them personally.

Show your support with a year-end gift to Breast Cancer Action today, if this work resonates with YOU!

And closing out the year, we virtually attend the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, a global conference of scientists, doctors, breast cancer patients, and patient advocates, to continue our core work to challenge, lift, and give voice to people living with or caring for people living with breast cancer.

And we’ve done so much more thanks to you! We are grassroots and people-powered. Please consider making a year-end gift with confidence, knowing your investment directly impacts our work to address and end breast cancer!
