Some good news: on the 17th of November, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Lymphedema Treatment Act!
This bill rightfully ensures Medicare coverage of doctor-prescribed compression garments for the treatment of lymphedema. We are grateful for your support thus far. However, we still have more work to do! We currently have less than a month to get the Lymphedema Treatment Act through the Senate and passed into law before the end of this year!
Lymphedema is one of the heartbreaking side effects of breast cancer treatments. The condition causes swelling in an arm or leg due to a blocked flow of fluids. This blockage can occur when lymph nodes are removed or damaged and it can be extremely painful. To treat lymphedema, patients need compression supplies to control their swelling.
Please sign this email petition to urge your Senator to pass this bill OR place phone calls to Senate offices urging them to pass this very important.
We need your help to lessen the burden on those living with breast cancer who can’t afford these treatments. Join us in this act of health justice.
