By KR, Executive Director
We are excited to announce she is joining the Breast Cancer Action team as our newest staff member and Deputy Director.
Heather excels in her professional roles.
She is a mission-driven nonprofit leader with 20 years of experience in senior-level leadership capacities at local, state, and national organizations scaling and sustaining social innovation via complex systems.
Heather brings experience to BCAction as a cross-functional strategist, organizational change architect, and thought leader with a stellar record of achievement in multi-sector collaboration, program innovation, talent development, and resource development.
And, she is deeply familiar with our mission, vision, and values, and ready to continue our trajectory toward fruition.
Diagnosed with breast cancer in her early 30s, she knows the physical, mental, emotional, and financial impact a cancer diagnosis and treatment can bring. Her lived experience demonstrates that access to transparent and unbiased information and options are critical and often a challenge to obtain. She believes every human has the right to be their own health advocate, and to do so everyone must have access to independent evidence-based data to inform their decisions.
Growing from a team of six to a team of seven means increased capacity to take on our unique and critical work. Thank you for your generous and continued contributions that enable BCAction to strengthen our infrastructure and support our work to address and end the breast cancer crisis.
We’re honored to be expanding our team to include someone with Heather’s combination of professional strengths and lived perspectives.
