The final week of our Think Before You Pink® campaign, “We Can’t Be Pink’d,” is here, and we’re calling out the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Attorney General William Barr. We will not stand by as they attempt to gut healthcare access and abolish protections for people living with pre-existing conditions, including breast cancer!
Take Action: Tell the Department of Justice why we need access to quality affordable healthcare!
The Department of Justice, led by Attorney General William Barr, is fighting to have the Affordable Care Act (ACA) declared unconstitutional. The Supreme Court case is set to be heard on November 10th.
Despite promises to protect people with pre-existing conditions, the current administration has made numerous attempts to destroy the ACA, but the ACA has been vital to eliminating unfair policy cancellations and ending annual and lifetime limits of coverage for breast cancer patients.
If the administration is successful in ending the ACA, the impacts would be devastating for the 29 million people who could lose coverage and the nearly 54 million Americans with pre-existing conditions, including breast cancer.
Share your story or a story of a loved one. Tell us why access to care is important to you!
Over the past few years, the ACA has offered measurable gains in improving healthcare and expanding access to healthcare services for women and their families, in particular women of color. Striking down the ACA would move us all ten steps back in confronting health inequities and farther away from our goal of universal high quality, affordable, comprehensive, healthcare for all.
We need to improve and build upon the successes of the ACA to achieve universal healthcare. Take action and tell the DOJ that they are failing to protect people living with breast cancer especially people of color and low-income people.
