Huge, heartfelt appreciation to everyone who joined us on Tuesday night for an evening of stirring conversation and direct action at Radical Disruption and Compassionate Resistance.
If you weren’t able to attend, you can still support the event by bidding on our silent auction, which is open until midnight on Saturday, October 16. From courtside tickets to a Warriors game (!!!) to gift certificates for independently owned businesses around the country, there’s something here for every interest and every price point.
I am also so grateful to our dynamic emcee, Tania Katan, who kept the event going with her signature humor and style, coupled with Luna Malbroux’s grooves and good vibes which closed out the evening perfectly.
Last, but certainly not least, huge thanks to our inspirational speakers CoCo Villaluz, Dr. Sandra Steingraber, and BCAction’s Program Manager Jayla Burton. It was an honor to share the “stage” with you and to get to the heart of the connections between breast cancer and the fossil fuel industry, and the intersections with environmental, racial, and health justice. Your knowledge and experiences were vital in turning a critical eye to the pink ribbon banking partnership between Susan G. Komen® and Bank of America, one of the largest fossil fuel funders.
Stay tuned for clips of this powerful conversation. But in the meantime, check out the auction that supports our unique work to call for more transparency and accountability by companies that take part in pink ribbon marketing culture, and to truly get to the root of the breast cancer epidemic.
