We are so excited about our upcoming webinar, The Fossil-Fueled Health Crisis, and it’s only one week away! To learn about the connection between fossil fuels and breast cancer risk, please register now to join us on Tuesday, September 15 at 10am PST / 1pm EST.

This webinar will feature three speakers: Kathryn Rodgers, Staff Scientist at Silent Spring Institute, Monic Uriarte, Community Organizer and Health Promoter at Esperanza Community Housing, and Jayla Burton, Program Officer at Breast Cancer Action.

Each of these speakers will share an indispensable part of the fossil fuel puzzle:

  • As a scientist, Kathryn Rodgers will explain the research linking fossil fuels and breast cancer. Are Benzene and Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons foreign to you? No problem! After joining us for this webinar you’ll understand more about the basics of fossil fuels and why they are so harmful to our health.
  • Monic Uriarte and her organization, Esperanza Community Housing, recently won a huge victory over fossil fuel giant Allenco Energy. Through years of grassroots organizing, Esperanza Community Housing and other allied organizations worked to decommission oil wells in South Los Angeles. Think the oil industry is too big to be stopped? Monic will show you how it’s done!
  • Finally, our Program Officer Jayla Burton will bring it together and talk about how you can join us and take action to address the fossil fuels-breast cancer connection.

This image announces the date and time of the webinar, "The Fossil-Fueled Health Crisis." The Zoom webinar will take place Tuesday, September 15 2020 at 10am PST / 1pm EST.

Through these three pivotal perspectives, we will take on the ground-breaking work of connecting the dots between fossil fuels and breast cancer, and what can be done about it. Together we can take on the fossil fuel industry—and we hope you’ll join us. The webinar is next week, Tuesday September 15 at 10am PST / 1pm EST.
