Yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was forced to delay a vote on the GOP healthcare bill until after the July 4th recess. He doesn’t have the votes he needs for the bill to pass and we need to make sure he doesn’t get them.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)
Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK)
Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV)
Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME)
Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV)
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ)
Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO)
Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH)
Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA)
Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA)
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR)
Email these key Republican Senators now. Tell them to commit to voting against any bill that would take healthcare away from millions of people, including those who are already the most vulnerable: poor people, people of color, women, people with chronic health problems, and older people. Tell them access to affordable healthcare is life or death for women at risk of and living with breast cancer. Tell them not to take coverage away from the most vulnerable while the wealthiest get a tax break.
As it currently stands, the bill makes HUGE cuts to Medicaid and would increase the number of uninsured people to 49 million by 2026. And, because states would be allowed to offer plans with no essential health benefits, people with pre-existing conditions, like breast cancer, could pay A LOT more for plans that provide the coverage they need.
Senate Republicans are still hell-bent on passing their so-called healthcare bill. We have to be hell-bent on telling them their bill is cruel and harms more than it helps.
