Right now over 40,000 attendees, including 100 heads of state and world leaders, are gathering for COP27, the climate implementation summit held this year in Egypt. If we’re going to derail global warming and the climate crisis, we need to take action now.

Exacerbated by rampant, unchecked capitalism and the endless drive for profit, the fossil fuel industry is the primary driver of the climate crisis.

Please read and share The Climate Crisis and Breast Cancer, our latest fact sheet that exposes the double burden of fossil fuels and climate change on the breast cancer crisis.

In no uncertain terms and with simple graphics, we show how, as the climate crisis intensifies, so do prevailing health injustices. We cannot ignore  these issues that must be addressed at the intersection of racism, classism, and health justice.

This fact sheet focuses on:

  • Hurricanes and Tsunamis
  • Heatwaves and Drought
  • And Wildfires

We show how each of these extreme weather events, exacerbated by environmental racism, increases exposure to cancer-causing chemicals of concern, and frontline and BIPOC communities suffer a disproportionate impact.

We must prioritize the health and well-being of our communities instead of the fossil fuel industry that’s driving us all toward an irreparable climate catastrophe.

Your first step toward structural change is to understand and expose how the breast cancer crisis is impacted by man-made phenomena that includes fossil fuels and climate change. We must all educate our communities, policy-makers, and government leaders in order to do better. Join us by downloading and reading the factsheet now.
