Julie Morgan, second from the left, at our 9th annual Action Speaks Louder Than Pink — Food For Thought fundraiser.

UPDATE:We’re postponing our 30th Anniversary Kickoff Reception, because we’re committed to the health and safety of everyone in our community, particularly older people and those being treated for cancer.

We’re sorry to miss you but will be back in touch as soon as we have a new date!

By Julie Morgan, Volunteer & Former member of BCAction’s Board of Directors

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, at the age of 37, I was pissed off. For years I had watched from a distance as companies marketed their pink ribbon products, many of which contained carcinogens, while nothing was happening to actually stop this epidemic. But now, it was personal.

And I know it’s personal for you too. Together, we’ll mark 30 years of Breast Cancer Action’s work to address and end the breast cancer epidemic

My term on Breast Cancer Action’s Board of Directors ended a few years ago but I’m more committed than ever to this mighty group of activists. I’m honored to speak at this fundraiser that marks their 30 years of radical disruption and compassionate resistance.

So, stay tuned for a new date and  join me in the photo booth (costume embellishments will be provided!). Add your mark to Breast Cancer Action’s timeline, catch up with old friends, and meet Breast Cancer Action activists.

And if you can’t come, you can join me in spirit by making a donation to support the cancer resistance.

Thank you!
