I’m really looking forward to Breast Cancer Action’s 25th anniversary event tomorrow evening and I hope you can make it. If you’re a procrastinator like I am, don’t worry – you can still get your ticket.
I’m so touched and inspired by how many amazing women’s health activists will be there to honor BCAction’s history and recommit to the work ahead. One of our founders, Belle Shayer, will be there, along with other founders’ families, former and current Board members, former staff, and grassroots activists from across the country.
We’ll have a reception with hosted beverages and hors d’oeuvres from 6-7pm followed by a seated dinner and program from 7-9:30pm. We’ll be honoring Dr. Sandra Steingraber with the inaugural Barbara Brenner Hell Raiser Award for her work on environmental toxins linked to breast cancer. And local journalist Rose Aguilar of KALW will emcee the event.
It’s going to be a memorable evening honoring 25 years of putting women’s health first. Your presence would mean so much. I hope to see you there.
P.S. If you can’t join us at the event in person, you can be there in spirit by making a donation to support our work and/or sending us the name of someone you’d like to honor on the Tribute Wall at the event.
