How Community Leaders Mobilize Their Communities

Joining our Community Leaders for Change program is an opportunity for members to inspire others to get involved and take action. Below are some examples of the types of events they participate in:

  • Writing, calling, and/or meeting with their legislators around legislative actions we’re working on—and mobilizing others in their community to do the same
  • Researching local events related to women’s health in their communities and then presenting at those events
  • Organizing Pink Ribbons, Inc., film screenings
  • Tabling at a conference, health fair, farmer’s market, neighborhood event, etc. to help disseminate educational materials
  • Hosting get-togethers with local Breast Cancer Action members to meet one another and brainstorm about ways to take action
  • Networking with other like-minded organizations in their communities
  • Seeking out storytelling opportunities and telling their own and others’ stories
  • Writing for our blog
  • Organizing screenings of our webinars
  • Organizing book clubs for our recommended books
