Wednesday, May 22, 2013
7:00 – 9:00PM
Presented at Brava Theater Center – 2781 24th St, San Francisco
Come out to support BCAction and enjoy the comedy musings of Eloisa Bravo and Nurse Allison Whittaker (Vital Signs); readings by author Melanie Gideon (The Slippery Year); the bluegrass sounds of Melody Walker; and more! We have a great line-up of funny, fearless, and bold performers all of whom are generously donating their time and talent.
|Award-winning comedian and BCAction supporter René Hicks will emcee the evening|
We’re thrilled to have René Hicks emceeing the evening – René is a longtime BCAction supporter and an award-winning comedian who was diagnosed with lung cancer, due to her exposure to secondhand smoke in comedy venues. As a comedian, she always turned her comedy act into comedy activism. Now as a speaker, she applies laughter advocacy–turning “ha-ha” moments into “a-ha” moments.
Come early for the VIP cocktail reception for an opportunity to meet and mingle with the performers, and bid on our silent auction featuring tickets to San Francisco’s top venues and performances. All proceeds from the event benefit our work to address and end the breast cancer epidemic.
BCAction is the fearless watchdog of the breast cancer movement. We don’t take a dime of corporate funding from companies that profit from or contribute to the breast cancer epidemic. We rely on individuals like you to fund our fierce and uncompromising advocacy.
We look forward to seeing you there!
